Over a quite long time (2006 to 2014 that is) I was operator of a web server, ikaria.informatik.uni-rostock.de. Among other logs, I regularly reviewed the web server log. Most of my users were students, but since advent of one-click hosters and free webspace became available literally everywhere, it was arguably relaxed. However, some day I noticed a student had put a graphic file on my webspace which was used as signature in some forum. That made me think of what one could do just with this little piece of information. And then I found some little extra, I didn't expect to find in the wild.
Where has all the documentation gone?
Experiment. Try some fancy new software (OSS preferrably) which needs some serious system integration (I'm sure not talking about a fuckin' editor or office suite; think graylog, cobbler, and similar). Condition: You download the binary package (be it deb, be it rpm) and then try to set it up without Internet access. Sucks? Don't tell me.
